John F. Ellers (Director)
John moved to Victor Harbor in 1990 to work part time for Ellers Pastoral Investments on the farm at Back Valley while still continuing with his mechanical apprenticeship. At this time there was a lot of work required in building new dairy races, dams, effluent facilities and general farming style earthmoving to be done on the property as the dairy industry was going well and things needed to be modernised.

It became a problem getting the required work done when needed as the existing local contractors were always booked up. John decided that with the amount of work required between the three farms totalling 6,000 acres, it would be practical and cost efficient to purchase a small Gallion grader and a John Deere 400 backhoe loader.

John found that there was quite a demand for earthmoving in the area and the business grew from there.

Warren Brook (General Manager)
Warren learnt the basics when he was 8 years old, clearing scrub with dozers on the family farm. He has since had over 25 years experience in most facets of the civil construction and mining industries. Warren started with Ellers Earthmoving in July 2000. Since then he has overseen all types of projects for the company, his experience helps us to bring seemingly impossible jobs off on time and within budget. With the help of his crew of experienced operators and labourers we feel that there is no job that canít be done.

  • Have zero workplace notifiable incidents and lost time injuries
  • Have zero reportable environmental breaches. Not to introduce any form of pollution in the vicinity of the project. Work with the client to improve where possible the environmental integrity of the area we are working in.
  • Ensure our suppliers and subcontractors operate with the same objectives in mind
  • Strive for continued improvement of service delivery through reviews and the use of quality control systems.

We can achieve this by having a suitably trained, competent and committed workforce who know and understand the company objectives and operations of our Management System. We use Defect, Suggestion, and Complaint Report forms to investigate and recommend business improvements. We use a prepared management review agenda to set targets and review our objectives at regular intervals determined by the manager.
